North York Zion Schoolhouse

The North York Zion Schoolhouse is a historic building located in the town of North York in Ontario, Canada. The schoolhouse was built in 1849 and served as a community school for over 100 years. The North York Zion Schoolhouse was built in 1849 by local residents who were seeking to establish a community school. The original schoolhouse was a small one-room building that could accommodate up to 40 students. In 1858, an addition was added to the schoolhouse in order to accommodate the growing student population. The school remained in operation until 1959 when it was closed due to declining enrollment.

One of the first projects undertaken by the Historical Society was the restoration of the North York Zion Schoolhouse.
